Cooling towers

^^^ Development which is to include the installation or commissioning of a new or existing cooling tower/s requires that it is constructed in accordance with the Australian and New Zealand Standards 3666.   In particular AS/NZS 3666.1 “Air Handling and water systems of buildings - Microbial Control, Part 1 Design, installation and commissioning”.


 All high risk manufactured water systems (cooling towers and warm water systems) must be registered with Council not more than 1 month after the system is brought into service, as per Regulation 5 of the Public Health (Legionella) Regulations 2013.  


 Operation of High Risk Manufactured Water Systems (cooling towers and warm water systems):


 In an effort to prevent the occurrence of Legionnaire’s Disease, high risk manufactured water systems must be operated in accordance with the Public and Environmental Health (Legionella) Regulations 2008. 


 Council can assist with risk management process and engineering solutions that minimise the risk to employees and the general public.


 Connecting your Cooling Tower to Sewer/Trade waste:


 Application for a permit requires the completion of an ‘Application to Discharge Trade Waste’.  The application can be obtained directly from SA Water.

Hairdressing Salon and skin penetration premises
